Xin Yue Art

Practitioner Statement
Xin Yue is an interdisciplinary design practitioner with roots in London, Melbourne, and China. Her practice intersects sculpture, architecture, and various methodologies, addressing the impact of social changes on gender equity, identity, and individual psychology, alongside themes from Buddhist philosophy. Inspired by concepts such as śūnyatā (emptiness) and existentialism, Xin’s creations reflect on the paradoxes of identity and promote self-growth, tolerance, and harmony.
Xin’s work aims to encourage viewers to transcend dualistic thinking, seeking inner peace and enlightenment while embracing inclusivity and diversity. Her practice ranges from art pieces to poetic spaces that evoke emotional resonance, showing how art bridges individual and collective identities through emotional resonance and social themes.
Particularly attentive to materials and multisensory communication, Xin uses various recyclable and repurposed materials, aligning with sustainable concerns.
During her Graduate Diploma at RCA, she immersed herself in artistic expression within design methodologies, acquiring critical practice-led and experimental research skills. Reflecting on her background in architecture, she focuses on "emotional architecture"— exploring various ways to express emotions within space through art. She investigates the connection between people and poetic space, through immersive experiences, fostering introversive thinking. Xin will continue her studies in the MRes programme at RCA, furthering her practice and exploration in this field.
