Project type

Light Installation; Linear Sculpture

Date

2024

Location

London

The Reflection series draws on Eastern Buddhist philosophy, particularly śūnyatā (emptiness), to explore how art installations can address the psychological impacts of confusion and anxiety in a fluid society. Centred on creating therapeutic atmospheres, the series merges spatial designs to produce adaptive and flexible lighting installations that take on various forms, symbolising the notion that all things lack inherent existence and fostering a sense of interconnectedness. This philosophical foundation informs the artworks, encouraging viewers to explore their own emotional landscapes and find tranquillity amid confusion.

The artist reflects on how emotional space design can influence feelings in public areas. The artworks are adapted to respond to diverse locations, creating poetic spaces; for example, soft light and shadows are used indoors, while outdoor installations interact with the rippling reflections of water mirrors. This approach not only addresses individual emotions but also explores collective emotional resonance.
